What To Expect From Your
Brain Trust Group . . .
Connecting . . .
Each Brain Trust is comprised of 8 to 12 like-minded women in business. For brainstorming and honest feedback, it is important each member has no direct competitor. In the initial 30-minute interview process, details of the group process are explained, your questions will be answered and consideration is taken to connect you with the right group of women. Each member is expected to sign a non-disclosure encompassing their entire group. Each group will decide on a schedule. What happens in the Brain Trust, stays in the Brain Trust.
Participating . . .
Women business owners are busy and handle many tasks in their business and personal lives. Therefore, steps are taken to make the most effective use of time. While membership may be canceled at any time, women business owners achieve the greatest benefit by participating for a minimum of 6 months. Each month a different section of the business is reviewed. This includes marketing, financials, operations and finally completing a one-year strategy by month 6. Members will participate online as a group in one six-hour session each month. In addition, each schedules a private one-on-one 60-minute mentoring session with Darlene Ziebell.
Embracing . . .
The purpose of a Brain Trust is to help WBEs grow to significant levels of business. It is important members are held accountable to participate and share in each session. Embracing the process by brainstorming and discussions is important for the success of the group. By embracing the methods designed for women in the brain trust, you will improve your business and personal skills. Connect with others by networking and communicating. Guest speakers will be invited as needed. Each member will participate by giving and receiving advice from the group facilitator and other members.

"Why didn't I meet you earlier? Darlene has helped me focus on my value proposition, identifying customers and most importantly how to make money. Regardless of the level of business ownership you are at, her no nonsense approach is of great value. She has a global connection with owners through her site Center for Women Business Owners."
Katheryn Weidman, Ph.D
"Darlene has MUCH to offer small business owners, regardless of whether they are just starting out or have been around for years. She has owned several types of businesses herself and has both broad experience and a unique approach to offer. Moreover, her style is refreshing. She doesn’t waste your time! She zeroes-in on the issues and talks-turkey to help the business owner confront the barriers to greater success. Darlene was a board member for two nonprofit organizations that I served as a consultant. I’ve seen her work in numerous settings and absolutely trust her judgment."
Ms. Ziebell was the incoming Chair of the Board of the Eleanor Foundation when I joined it as President/CEO in September 2002. The organization was in the midst of a fairly radical restructuring that included a wholesale change in strategic direction and the turnover of the Board of Directors needed to effect the change. Ms. Ziebell's directness, leadership, strategic focus, and practical smarts were instrumental to the success of this transformation, which was realized far more quickly than I'd have thought possible. Further, Ms. Ziebell also is one of the most entrepreneurial people I have ever met.
